The leather is 1.6-1.8mm thick and waterproofed, giving it extra OOMPH for the trail. Leather provides support yet flexes, so ankles are reinforced and ther is structure provided around the foot. Mesh paneling is abrasion resistant, so no harm no foul when it comes to tearing down the path. Your feet will get plenty of air circulation. The Talus AT UltraDry promises plenty of comfort for long hiking days, too. A removable, dual density footbed gives cushion and can be replaced, while the molded EVA and TPU midsole molds to the foot better than previous iterations of Vasque thru-hike styles because it the unique compound molds to the foot to breeze by the break-in period. Abrasion-resistant mesh panels provide breathability to keep feet comfortable in warm weather. Vasque added the Vibram Mega Nuasi sole that has a new grip pattern that we find holds well across various terrain types--boulder, grit, moss, grass, wood--and keeps your feet solid to the ground.
