The Boondock's mantra is "take shelter inside." Makes sense because this work boot has some incredible features for frigid weather, or year-round frigid work. The Boondock style we are talking about here is style A128P, a waterproof and insulated eight inch work boot. Encased in premium waterproof leather, Timberland PRO built the Boondock 8" to repel all water attacks. Splashes, soaks--you name it. Behind the leather is a waterproof membrane that is breathable. Like its Helix HD cousin, the Boondock has a molded rubber toe protector that is abrasion resistant. The benefit toe covers like this is you can kick things with less worry. And don't deny you are not out there kicking tires or work materials on the construction site. We know what you guys do to get work done. Under that rubber toe protector is a composite safety toe cap. It is the same one found in Tims' TiTAN series: it is lightweight, does not get cold or warm based on the season, and provides a roomier fit in the toe area. Style A128P of Timberland PRO's Boondock series also sports 600 grams of efficient, flame-laminated Thermolite insulation. Thermolite is a comfortable barrier that does what it has to do without the bulk and without additional weight. This hearty upper with the aforementioned qualities is attached to the sole, etc using a goodyear welt AND a cement heel construction. Now this is an interesting combination, and the reason why we like it is because you get stability in the midfoot and toe, but flexibility in the heel area. This means you gain movement when the foot twists, steps, kneels, etc while on the job. Underneath your working feet is Timberland PRO's Dynamic Anti-Fatigue Technology footbed. This is a replaceable insole made of polyurethane, which provides return bounce with each step you take, and it is cushy for comfort. We like it a lot. A dual density midsole of a similar material sits between the insole and the outsole. The outsole is specially developed by Timberland PRO is formulated to maximize traction on cold surfaces. The lugs are deep and channel snow, liquid, and mud. In addition, the sole is slip, oil, and abrasion resistant. Frost stands no chance next to the Boondock!
