The 83860 Farmington KT is another revamp included in the family redesign. The Farmington has been a staple in the Irish Setter Work brand, but the changes have been to the best. Right out of the gate, USA-made full grain leather. An immediate change you notice is the 44% extra toe room thanks to the king toe safety toe cap (thus the KT signature in the style's name). This safety toe cap is also a "nano" non-metallic toe, which means it is lighter but just as protective as a steel toe cap. Dressed with American made leather, the 83860 reads as a standard work boot, filling out that classic silhouette. Yet it is the comfortable and cushioning thanks to CuShin technology in the tongue and the removable and replaceable polyurethane footbed underfoot. Irish Setter Work opted to use the Endurance Cross Wire KT sole because of its cushioning potential, caused by the polyurethane make-up. The sole is best in class for oil, gas, abrasions, and chemicals, and it has good resistance to heat and slips. It is non-marking. If you are looking for the six-inch safety toe version, look at the 83638. Look toward the 83861 if you would like this boot without a safety toe cap.
