Irish Setter Work’s Mesabi series is predicated on the logger boot. The 83834 Mesabi is waterproof and can withstand long hours in rugged conditions. Full grain waterproof leather is the basis for the upper. A snug fit to support the ankle is a trait for any logger boot, and the 83834 Mesabi provides that. An UltraDry waterproof lining provides an extra layer of protection from dew, puddles, and submersion against the leather fibers. Irish Setter constructed the Mesabi logger with a welt construction, which provides stability and little lateral flexibility. In short, no ankle rolls. More stability on the sole itself is found with Irish Setter Work’s Stars and Bars logger sole. There is an aggressive lug pattern here that not only informs further stability, but also guarantees traction on the toughest terrain. The sole is also oil and slip resistant, and provides best in show for abrasion, heat, and chemical resistance as well. The sole of the Mesabi is designed and tested to perform on high heat surfaces, resistant to melting at a minimum of 475 degrees Fahrenheit._x000D_
